Description of Hot Playboy: Hot Playboy has been a special bull in the breed for a long time, and we are very excited to have been able to acquire him as a 12 year old! When we purchased Awesome Alamo from Joe Valentine and Bill Hudson in 2011, Hot Playboy was Mr. Valentine's prize young bull. If our memory is correct, Mr. Valentine had recently sold half interest in Hot Playboy for $30,000. We purchased Awesome Alamo shortly after touring the Valentine's herd, and we were able to get 15 straws of Hot Playboy semen as part of the deal. Flash forward to 2016, I was able to tour the great herd at Hudson Longhorns. I saw many of the top cows in the breed that day, but two that really stood out to me as complete package females were full sisters and Hot Playboy daughters. They had flashy color, beautiful horn sets and big, smooth bodies. They were very special cows. Around that time, new breeders Monte and Melissia Bierschenk of MonMel Longhorns purchased Hot Playboy for their new herd of excellent longhorn cows at MonMel Longhorns. Flash forward to 2019, and MonMel's purchase of Bob Loomis's main herd sire has made Hot Playboy available. When we saw he was for sale, we jumped on the opportunity to buy him. We plan to put Hot Playboy on one of our main herds for 2019, and we can't wait to see his flashy, complete package calves starting next fall!
