Description of BRR Sir Luca: Sir Luca is a super young bull sired by the world's longest horned Texas Longhorn bull and out of a big, smooth bodied brood cow that has the look and maternal traits we want in our females. Sir Luca was raised by and is still owned by our friends at Bella Rio Ranch. They have generously agreed to lease him to us for part of our 2020 breeding season. We have two heifer calves from Luca's first calf crop, and we really like him. His calves are very lively and healthy at birth. They have pretty, long body types. They have great color, with nice patterns and dark pigments. His brindle gene is very strong, even in the heifers. Given his own horn measurement of upper 70's at 3, plus his genetics for horn, we are assuming his calves will develop very nice horn growth as well. We are excited for this opportunity to use Sir Luca and plan to put him on some of our best young cows and heifers. Update (1/24/21) - we are very excited to have been able to partner with our friends at Bella Rio Ranch on this great young bull. We have loved the calves we have seen from him, and we love having him in our pasture. We expect him to make a big contribution on our herd and the Bella Rio herd for many years to come!
