Description of Chard Iron: Chard Iron is simply amazing, and we are very grateful to Chris Hesse at DCT Cattle Company for letting us lease him for part of our 2021 breeding season. Good black and white bulls are so hard to find, and he is one of the best we have ever seen. He is excellent on so many fronts - color, disposition, twisty genetics, milking ability, and most of all his 2000 pound smooth body. There aren't many longhorn bulls that weigh 2000 pounds, and I don't know if any of the others are as smooth as Chard Iron. His dam has tight, corkscrew twist and has the best weaning weights of all of the cows at Dickinson Cattle Company, a huge number. He is very calm around people, and he has a beautiful head. We are very excited to be able to use him and are putting him on many of our best cows! Update - we have purchased Chard Iron from DCT Cattle Company! After leasing him for two months, we felt our herd would be much better with him as part of it going forward. We are very grateful to the Hesse's for working out a deal for us to acquire him. We plan to have Chard Iron with many of our best cows. We feel he will produce beautiful cows and excellent mothers, and we feel he will play a large role in developing the next generation of "pretty and productive" Rocking O females!
